Enduring Understanding

Testimonies of a Christian and lessons learned on the journey. Psalm 119:2

Palm Sunday

The picture above is my church on Palm Sunday.  Every Palm Sunday my church goes outside and blesses the palms we have. Then as a church, we process inside singing Hosanna.   It resonated with me this year, more than in years past how fickle we can be as people. The crowd was praising Jesus one day, calling Him “King” and in the time frame of a week turned on Him. They went from loving and adoring him, to hating him. How often do we say, “Lord you can be ruler of my life. You can be my King.”  Then we turn around and say, “except for my finances, this unhealthy relationship, my job, etc.”?  This year I had a prayer for myself and other believers.  My prayer was that we not be like the crowd and fickle in our faith.

In my church, the Easter season is more than a day. It is the 40 days leading up to Easter and the 50 days following Easter Sunday.  If there are some areas you have not turned over to the Lord as RULER of your life and you desire to be free, it’s not too late to have resurrection with our beloved King! Turn that burden over, submit to your King and watch what He will do!  I hope you have a blessed Easter season!

Palm Sunday Prayer
I pray that the Hallelujahs and Hosannas from Palm Sunday last all year-long and that we would be not like the crowd. I pray that we would not turn on Jesus when things don’t go our way or when He confronts us. I pray that this Easter when our faith is shaken and we fall short like Peter, that we turn back to Him and receive the full redemption we are promised. I pray that we honor Christ in our struggles knowing that because we were CHOSEN to suffer with Him and that in our suffering we are closest to Him.  I pray we understand we experience His love more fully when we have to carry our own crosses. May we be like Simon and like the women who ministered to Jesus in His last hours and choose to serve Christ now and until our own final hours. I’m praying this Easter that we cross from death and darkness to full life, joy and celebration with Christ our REDEEMER and SAVIOR!
