The Best Seats in the House

God is crazy ridiculous good!!! I have great expectations and his Hope does NOT disappoint us!!!

His Love is Better Than Wine

So yesterdayMyfriend Hope and I went to see Tony Evans preach in a local church. We got there and it was packed. The main room was full and the overflow room was filling up. We were offered the overflow room but declined b/c it only showedthe service ontv’sand we would have to watch Dr. Evans on a screen. Hope didn’t come all this way from Cincinnati to watch him on a screen like she could have done onYoutube, so we decided to wait. We decided we would even stand along the wall if need be.

“Is it ok if we just stand to the side and wait here for any available seats?” we asked the usher. “Sure”, he said. And people were coming back and forth, in and out, and we were there for a good 10 min. Then we started getting antsy…

My Muslim Friend

My friends are amazing! I really enjoyed reading this post and wanted to share it with others. God bless!

His Love is Better Than Wine

I made my way to my seat on the flight from Boston. I had just experienced 3 days with my friends who spoiled me with time, love and money.

Now I was headed home and looking forward to unwinding in preparation for work the next day. I was disappointed my airplane seat was a middle seat. We all know middle seats are the hardest to take a nap in which is what I felt in desperate need of. But God consistently has divine assignments for me when flying and so even though I was annoyed by the seating I was keeping my eyes peered for the assignment.

I ended up between an overweight, talkative Caucasian woman and a quiet, tall and lanky brown-skinned man. They couldn’t have been more different. When the woman kept talking to me I figured she was probably my assignment. But I was wrong…

How to Be an Overcomer (Interview)

This is a Repost from http://betterthanwine.net/ 🙂

A few months ago my friend wrote a book called “How To Overcome Heartbreak”. She interviewed several people, including me, to hear how they overcame their individual life challenges.   Check out my interview below!

Interview Questions:

1. What does the word “overcome” mean to you?

To me the word “overcome” means to experience a challenging circumstance and to be a survivor of the challenge. I am a geek so I also like to look at the dictionary definition which says “to get the better of a struggle or conflict; conquer; defeat; to overcome the enemy; to prevail; to overcome one’s weakness”. And my favorite is “to gain the victory”. Read more…

Palm Sunday

The picture above is my church on Palm Sunday.  Every Palm Sunday my church goes outside and blesses the palms we have. Then as a church, we process inside singing Hosanna.   It resonated with me this year, more than in years past how fickle we can be as people. The crowd was praising Jesus one day, calling Him “King” and in the time frame of a week turned on Him. They went from loving and adoring him, to hating him. How often do we say, “Lord you can be ruler of my life. You can be my King.”  Then we turn around and say, “except for my finances, this unhealthy relationship, my job, etc.”?  This year I had a prayer for myself and other believers.  My prayer was that we not be like the crowd and fickle in our faith. Glory and Death

A few weeks ago, I woke up in the middle of the night and was unable to go back to sleep. Frustrated and exhausted, I finally accepted that I would not be falling back asleep and got up. I dragged myself out of bed with only a few hours of sleep and prepared myself for the long day ahead. I was not looking forward to some difficult things I had to do. I attempted to listen to some worship music as I rushed to get myself ready. Finally getting myself out of the house I arrived at the doctor’s office for a check-up.

While waiting in the waiting room I was greeted by death! Read more…

A Glimpse of Heaven

A glimpse of heaven. So today as I write my first blog post there is snow on the ground and the sky is dreary.  I’m in need of some warmth!  I’m thinking back to a Sunday a few weeks back. My pastor was preaching (I really love my two pastors).  I was at church sitting by myself and saw one of my friends during the service and smiled and waved.  A warmness filled my heart with thoughts of my pastor and my friend.  When I went up to communion I saw a few more of my friends and made eye contact and we shared a smile.  I thought, this must be what heaven is like…all my favorite people.   Read more…
